DescriptionThe Smokies captured the 2009 Southern League North Division crown under the direction of former Chicago Cub great and Hall-of-Famer Ryne Sandberg, and they're hungry for more this season!
The Tennessee Smokies, Class AA minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs and member of the 10-team Southern League, play a 140-game schedule, including 69 home dates (1 doubleheader) at Smokies Park. Bill Dancy, former third base coach for the Philadelphia Phillies and a seasoned minor league manager, will manage the Smokies in 2010. Opened in 2000, Smokies Park has a seating capacity of 6,000 - all lower level seating located no more than 20 rows from the field! Field level box seating is located behind home plate, both dugouts, and down either baseline, while our bleacher seating flanks the outfield and is located in the last two sections on both the 1st and 3rd baselines. The cost for stadium parking is $3.00 per vehicle. Motorcycles and vehicles displaying a handicapped tag receive free parking. Smokies Park is fully accessible to handicapped patrons, offering handicapped restroom facilities, wheelchair slots, and wheelchair companion seating at the top of most sections. All fans wishing to purchase beer inside stadium gates must have I.D. checked and hand stamped at our stamping booths located inside the 3rd base entranceway (or 1st base entranceway on Fridays and Saturdays). A Citizens National Bank ATM is located inside Smokies Park on the concourse behind home plate; however, all stationary concessions stands accept major credit cards in addition to cash. Average concessions prices range from $1.00 - $7.00 per item. |
